About Dr. Prieto Paz
Dr. Paulina Prieto Paz (she/her/hers) is a bilingual pre-licensed clinician and received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from William James College. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo in Ecuador, where she is a licensed psychologist.
Dr. Prieto Paz completed her doctoral internship at the Stone Counseling Center at Wellesley College and her post-doctoral training at Northeast Health Services (NEHS). She has extensive experience working in a range of clinical settings from higher level of care to outpatient treatment with adolescents, transitional-age youth, and adults. Dr. Prieto Paz is passionate about working with individuals across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds. She specializes in supporting BIPOC clients navigating trauma, relational challenges, and identity development. Dr. Prieto Paz’s therapy style is collaborative and culturally sensitive. She utilizes her therapeutic skills in individual and group therapy, and tailors her style to meet the clients needs. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cultural Relational Therapy (CRT). Her work is informed by a strong foundation in psychotherapy, women's studies, advocacy, and social justice.
She has also provided psychological testing to support diagnostic clarity, guide treatment recommendations, and facilitate processes such as IEP/504 planning, eligibility for state disability, and access to mental health services. Although she is not providing psychological testing at MMH at this time, her knowledge of psychological testing is beneficial to her work with clients in a therapeutic setting.
